For more than ten years Arturo Muñoz has made his living below the floor: digging pier pads, shoring sagging girders, swapping rotted sill plates for new lumber and jacking raised homes back toward level. Spanish is his first language and English his second, and he brings a crew member's eye to every guide on this site.
Why Birmingham pages get a hard look
Hillside basements and damp crawl spaces fail for reasons that are easy to oversimplify. Arturo reads each page to make sure repair methods are described as crews really perform them, that symptoms line up with what he finds on site, and that no page promises a result a repair cannot give.
