01Repair options
Wall anchors run through the wall to plates buried in the yard; steel or carbon fiber braces brace the wall from inside; badly failed sections may be excavated and rebuilt. The right choice depends on how far the wall has moved and how much room there is outside.
02Water and pressure
Hydrostatic pressure from saturated clay is the main force. Interior drains and sump pumps relieve water; exterior grading and downspouts reduce how much reaches the wall. Pair wall repair with foundation drainage.

03Warning signs

A horizontal crack midway up a block wall, stair-step cracks at corners, the top of the wall leaning in, and white mineral deposits from seeping water. Track width with a ruler; growth means movement. If unsure, book a foundation inspection.
