01How it is fixed
Push piers or helical piers are installed along the foundation edge down to firmer soil or rock, then the settled section is lifted. Polyurethane foam injection is sometimes used for interior slab sections and driveways. Rock is often shallow on ridge lots, which can make piers shorter but harder to drive.
02Fill soil
Graded lots on slopes are often built up with fill. If it was not compacted well, settlement shows up in the first decade. Builder records and soil reports, if you can get them, help contractors plan.

03Next steps

Settling slabs often come with cracked brick; see foundation crack repair for patching once movement is stopped.
