01What the work involves
Crews add steel support jacks or new masonry piers under sagging girders, sister or replace weakened joists, and rebuild sills where moisture has rotted them. The project photos on this site show this kind of work: new piers, new beams and fresh sill plates.
02Moisture first
Supports alone will not last if the crawl space stays wet. A vapor barrier, working vents or a dehumidifier, and fixing gutters outside usually come with the structural repair. Full encapsulation is an option, not a requirement; ask what problem it solves in your case. See foundation drainage for outside fixes.

03What to ask

How many supports, at what spacing, on what footing? Will they be adjustable? Is replaced lumber treated? Ask for before and after photos from under the house.
